Types of suits:
A wide variation in purchase price is seen in case of mens suits. The highest price is paid in case of bespoke tailoring. In this type of suit, the garment is made according to a particular customer’s personal measurements. He has the freedom to choose the best fit and choice of fabric.

The ‘made to measure’ suit is cheaper than the bespoke type. This type of clothing is tailored beforehand and then modified to suit the customer’s particular body measurements. Selection of fabrics and design options are limited compared to the trade’s bespoke counterpart.

The most common mens suits are the ‘ready to wear’ variety. It is found in almost all retail shops and the cheapest among the three varieties.

Relevance:
Mens suits are generally regarded as formal wear. This is due to the respectable image that the clothing imparts to its owner. Job interviews generally demands the applicant to wear a suit when he comes for an interview. The choice of color and cut in this case is conservative with a predominance of grays and blues. Solid or Pinstripe patterns are preferred.

The advent of the Information Technology industry has given a blow to this conservative sartorial style. The suit is nowadays worn only when there is an important meeting or an event where it is important to project a conservative image. Professions like banking and law demands its professionals to dress conservatively. It is seen that bankers-irrespective of their position in the corporate hierarchy wears suits. This is done to keep their image as trustworthy of funds and legal responsibilities.

All suits require a tie to be paired with the ensemble. The choice of tie itself is regarded as a barometer of the wearer’s taste. It should be chosen carefully. A tie must be of a deeper color than the shirt. Conservative dressers prefer a subdued color scheme when choosing their ties.
